A Mini Galeria é uma galeria de arte independente, idealizada pelas artistas visuais Angelina Camelo e Clara Valente. Inicialmente a intenção era criar um atelier, mas o espaço já tinha ares de galeria. Desde então a mini galeria traçou uma história sólida que a posiciona definitivamente no calendário cultural da capital, proporcionando exposições, projetos criativos e debates sobre a Arte. Através de ações culturais, o espaço soma e contribui com o enriquecimento do patrimônio cultural imaterial da cidade.

Desde sua inauguração, em novembro de 2007, a galeria já recebeu mais de 90 artistas, nacionais e internacionais. Realizamos até hoje 42 projetos, entre exposições individuais, coletivas , intercâmbios entre galerias e projetos dentro de instituições culturais.
O principal elemento impulsionador da Mini Galeria no desenvolvimento de suas atividades é promover e comercializar a produção de artistas atuantes no cenário das artes visuais da atualidade, para ampliar e enriquecer o diálogo entre as diversas formas de produção artística e o público. Expandindo o conhecimento e oferecendo outras possibilidades de acesso para colecionadores e interessados.

Em 2009, à convite da revista catalã ROJO Magazine, a galeria passou a integrar à rede mundial de galerias Artspace®, ação bem sucedida da revista que seleciona galerias em todo o mundo e que tem como preocupação a promoção de intercâmbio entre artistas e galerias independentes.

Dois projetos de maior repercussão e sucesso da galeria são os que promovem o intercâmbio entre galerias ,artistas e o público: Selecionamos um coletivo de artistas formados pela da Mini Galeria para expor em uma galeria de outro estado ou país e depois expor os artistas de outras galerias, dentro da Mini. Ações e exposições feita fora do ambiente físico da galeria também são comuns, como o projeto realizado em novembro de 2009, o Arte Interativa na Lagoa, onde o suporte para a pintura são os pedalinhos da lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, no Rio de Janeiro e Projeto Mini Móbile, onde artistas da galeria são apresentados em praças e parques, dentro de um container. Acreditamos na força e poder das exposições itinerantes e com forte interatividade com o público e os espaços urbanos.

Atualmente a Mini Galeria foca na produção de jovens artistas nacionais e internacionais. Trabalhos em variados suportes e técnicas: colagem, desenho, pintura, gravura, objeto, ilustração, fotografia, video, videoinstalação, instalação e performance.È coordenada por Angelina Camelo, que também cria projetos fora do ambiente físico da galeria e também é responsável pela curadoria das exposições. O espaço físico da galeria está fechado atualmente, depois de passarmos por 4 endereços na cidade de Belo Horizonte. Atuamos no ambiente virtual da internet e continuamos desenvolvendo projetos de exposições realizados em espaços culturais.
MINI GALERIA was created in November of 2007 as a space dedicated to contempoary art in Belo Horizonte, by artists Angelina Camelo and Clara Valente. Initially, the gallery was conceived as a space to produce (an open studio), and at the same time, exhibit works of art. Projects and exhibitions, both, within and without of the gallery’s physical space, and exchanges between galleries have been amply developed, characterized by creative actions and uncommon works. The gallery’s physical space has already occupied four different locations in Belo Horizonte.

The main objective of MINI GALERIA has always been to promote and bring to light a new harvest of young artists who have been active in the contemporary art scene, but have not had the chance to show their work, individually or collectively, in the same way as a small, select group of artists has. These young artists have a strong connection with illustration, graffiti, sketches, painting, engraving, and other dialects. Since it’s inauguration, MINI GALERIA has received around 90 Brazilian and foreign artists, and to this day, has put together 38 events, including individual and collective exhibits, lectures, and parallel projects.

MINI GALERIA has been innovating the exhibition concept by proposing a more sincere and democratic approximation with current art production and, in fact, has come to fill in the void in the contemporary art scene in Belo Horizonte.
Currently, MINI GALERIA’s focus is on young, national and international artist’s production: works of a variety of supports and techniques, such as collages, sketches, painting, engraving, object illustration, phototgraphy, video, video installation, and performance. All coordenated by Angelina Camelo, who has also created projects outside the physical environment of the gallery, as well as being responsible for curating the exhibitions.
