Street artist Junkhouse presents her signature characters as a monsters. The firts idea for this exhibition is rooted in the artist’s specific relation to urban spaces. The search for new spots and working in the streets generate a mode of perception that cover an extremely wide range of scales, from silhouettes of industrial complexes to to architectural features of buildings to textural characteristics of walls, waht holds levels together is the concept of Monsterlism.
Her monster characters are inspired by an overwheliming urban environment. Junkhouse’s process of disassembling the enviroment and directing the focus to its elements like the texture of walls. the materiality of buildings, pipes, machines and disposed materials, makes them accessible as abstracted forms or integral elements.While in her canavas paintings the artist embebs mosnter character in a fantasy landscape.
